Our Commitment

The Lighthouse Project is committed to ensuring that our website and client portal are accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard across all pages.

Measures We Have Taken

• Semantic HTML structure with appropriate heading hierarchy on every page
• All form inputs have associated <label> elements
• Navigation landmarks use <nav> with descriptive aria-label attributes
• All interactive elements are operable by keyboard alone
• Visible focus styles on all focusable elements
• Colour contrast checked against WCAG 2.1 AA minimum ratios (4.5:1 for normal text)
• Toast notifications use role="alert" so screen readers announce them
• Dynamic content regions use aria-live to announce updates
• Images include descriptive alt text

Known Limitations

While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, we are aware of the following limitations we are working to resolve:

• Some colour combinations using our lighter text colour may fall below the 4.5:1 contrast ratio on small text — we are reviewing and updating these
• The site has not yet been independently audited by a third-party accessibility specialist — we plan to commission an audit shortly after launch
